Althea walked slowly through the bundle of trees, absent minded and only hearing her footsteps echo around the small wood. The trees brushed against eachother, whispering secrets of old and pointing suspiciously at the newcomer.
The path was gravel and not well distinguished, leaving Althea to twist and turn through the woods. All was silent. Thea's head was bowed to the ground, her face expressionless, her lips moving and muttering strange words, healing spells. Her chocolate eyes were glazed, lost in a world of her own and her white, glistening hair blew in the wind, tickling her neck. She could not just see the gravel before her, but ancesters from the past, many great things from her imagination. Thea's imagination was the only place she could be herself. The only place she could hide.
Eventually a vast fountain came to veiw, causing Thea to look up. She let a thin, wispy smile play across her lips for a brief second, but then her face was back to its un-emotional self. Water gushed from holes in the stone, magnificent sculptures were carved into it; The Pearl Fountain was a work of art. The trickling sounds were so calming, the water was so pure, just like the edges of a pearl. It was the only fountain which you could drink out of in The Realm of Salmai'nne, yet nobody ever came here, as it was almost hidden. This was her destination. Her silent peace.
Walking up to the fountain and sitting upon it, she looked up and into the innocent, blue sky. Beyond that sky was stars, the most amazing things that nobody could ever dream of. The clouds floated by, sealing the earths people on the ground. If they weren't there, Thea would just float away...Thea gazed into it deeply for a while and let throughts ring through her mind.
An abrupt crack disturbed her, so she turned around sharply, eyes blazing with...anger? It seemed more like terror, or defense maybe. A young girl on her own in the middle of no where was dangerous, and Thea was ready to fight, though she was nor fast or good at fighting. But no one was there and Thea had already spotted writing on the fountain rim, where she was sitting.
Reading it aloud, she felt so surprised and confused at what it said, though her face told a different story.
"Power creates evil, so lands are ruled by evil. Only the truly good and sinless can create peace with power," Thea whispered, no hint of recognisation or surprise in her voice. For the second time today, a slight smile grew on her lips, though her eyes remained cold and undesturbed. Thea knew if she was cold, she was safe.
